History of Concens A/S

During the early 1990s a Danish company required a small and powerful in-line electrical actuator. This was not available on the market and a new construction with a planetary gear was developed.

For several years the "in-line" actuator was produced only for this single customer and in 2002 it was decided to implement a design-update.

The new design was nominated to receive two design prizes and the design company experienced a huge interest from people who wanted to know more about this new actuator.

A market analysis was carried out to determine the potential for starting a company based on the new actuator and that was the first step for Concens A/S.

• 2010: New Concens web site launched
• 2009: New CEO and changed organisation in Concens A/S
• 2008: Concens actuators certified for ATEX zone 22
• 2008: Concens actuators certified for IP69K protection class
• 2007: New series of controllers (C2) was released
• 2007: Actuator and control system approved according to UL/EN-60.601 
• 2006: New series of stainless steel actuators was released
• 2005: Concens Control Concept (C3) was introduced
• 2003: Concens A/S was founded in Esbjerg, Denmark
