Actuators in spreading machines

Gerber Technology, a division of Gerber Scientific A/S in Denmark, develops and manufactures spreading machines for the textile industry. For this project, a team comprising management, engineering, sales and service worked with Gerber Technology to re-design their large XLs125 spreader. The result was a completely new control mechanism featuring con50 actuators. The new design was also more modern, ergonomic and robust, all at a considerably lower cost price.

Each year, Gerber Technology produces almost 350 machines for customers around the world. 

Meeting the goals of the product committee meant not doing what we ”usually” do, but instead focusing on new construction and new components. We have made a number of new improvements over the previous version, such as the cutting device and the construction and control of the cradle for the rolls of fabric
